Rob Ford, Partner / Portfolio Manager will be speaking on three separate panels at the annual Global ABS conference in Brussels this week (18th – 20th June). Over 3,000 industry peers attend the event, with keynote speakers including Emil Paulis (Director of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for the Internal Market and Services), Sharon Bowles (Chair of the European Parliaments Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee) and James Lockhart III (Former Director and Vice Chairman of the Federal Housing Finance Agency).

The first panel will see Rob take part in the discussion on “Investing in the US vs. Europe” where he will consider key differentiating factors of ABS between the two regions such as sectors, liquidity, transparency and performance. On a second panel, Rob will discuss how PCS (Prime Collateralised Securities - an industry-led initiative to create a “kite-mark” label for securitisations) could become pivotal in the long run. The discussion will touch upon whether PCS has made a difference since its launch in late 2012, what the experience has been thus far in applying for the label and the anticipated benefits / potential impact of non-compliance of using it.  Finally, to wrap up, Rob will be part of the ‘Securitisation Question Time’ panel which will also recap the major take home points from the conference.
