In 2022, the TwentyFour Charitable Foundation was incorporated.
The object of the Charity is to make grants to advance charitable purposes for the public benefit, the Charity will choose a focus area on an annual basis and the focus for the current year (2023) is the advancement of education and mental health.
Through the focus areas, the Charity decided to support the following charities:
Educational charity – Debate Mate
Debate Mate is an extraordinary charity that equips students from disadvantaged backgrounds with essential skills, confidence, and critical thinking abilities. They do this by training university students to run debate workshops in schools.
Mental health charity – Grief Encounter
Grief Encounter is an organization that provides vital support to children and young people who have experienced the profound loss of a loved one. They do this by providing a way through the anxiety, fear and isolation caused by grief, offering a variety of services that can work for different people.
The Charity is supported by TwentyFour Asset Management LLP and its staff to raise funds. So far this year fundraising efforts have included:
J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge
The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge is the world’s largest corporate running event.
We were proud to participate in this year’s event in July.
A number of our employees joined in the 5.6k run around Battersea Park, well done to them for training hard before the event and taking part while fundraising for our chosen charities.
Three Peaks Challenge
The Three Peaks Challenge is a monumental test of physical and mental endurance. It involves conquering the highest peaks in Scotland, England, and Wales – in just 24 hours. The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft).
The three mountains are:
Snowdon, in Wales (1085m)
Scafell Pike, in England (978m)
Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1345m)
Through grit and determination, a number of our employees successfully took on this challenge in September 2023 in order to raise funds for our two chosen charities. Even though this was super challenging, they are already thinking of the 2024 challenge.
TwentyFour is committed to responsible environmental practices. We acknowledge that environmental issues including climate change present some of the most important issues facing the world today. We acknowledge that many measures that lead to lower CO2 emissions also reduce other environmental effects, such as resource consumption and air pollution and we attach great importance to this issue across all our business activities.
We work with our building management company to track and reduce landfill waste, with the ultimate aim to recycle over 95% of the office’s waste products. When disposing of our waste, all paper products are sent for recycling. Special waste such as fluorescent light tubes, and print cartridges are also collected separately.
Our building energy is derived from renewable sources, and we have intelligent lighting systems and other environmentally friendly construction features. Furthermore, the Firm calculates carbon emissions, including commuting from its staff, and offsets these with an investment with www.carbonfootprint.com .
Additionally, TwentyFour supports flexible working and greener commuting, to further reduce our carbon footprint.
